Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Sep 04, 2022 4:54 pm Hi Suspect there may be a leak in my house and wanted to off the main water supply. Found this outside my house instead. A silver triangular lever. Photo attached below Turned the lever. Water still runs when I turn on the tap. Turned lever back to where it was again and it seems to activate some sort of pressure, seems like some form of compressor and the water meter ran up 2 litres. Water also runs. So, am I stuck with no main tap to on/off? Is this some form of pressure adjustor? It soulds like when you turned it off some water started to drain out of the system. When you put it back you then refilled the pipes I wouls suggest you leave the taps on for a few minutes when you switch the valve. . . . you might find the flow has stoppped.
