Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Powder room - layout advice needed 4Oct 12, 2021 10:00 am Jason526 Normally a door is 900mm. You should be able to have a swing door for your downstairs powder room, it just might be a little tight. I would have the door open to the sink. For your upstairs powder room, looks like you will lose bench space of the sink if you want a swing door. Would you consider actually combining your powder room and the bathroom? This is just a rough sketch. I think this would be more practical? And it's a better looking bathroom in my opinion. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks for the reply! We've now decided to remove the bath as we dont think there is enough room. There is also a bath in our ensuite that we can use Our thinking behind having a separate toilet/bathroom is that they may want to use the bathroom to get ready and having them connected makes it more difficult to use the toilet if the bathroom is occupied. There will also be a powder room downstairs though. Re: Powder room - layout advice needed 5Oct 12, 2021 10:00 am Jason526 Normally a door is 900mm. We built the toilet in and put in a sliding door and while privacy isn’t as important, we find it does close off completely if we want. But for a powder room, yes you need complete privacy, so I think if there’s a lock in the door, it should be fine. I guess as long as the door lines up lol. Hello!
