Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Symmetric homes - job status, progress and quality 8Aug 31, 2021 12:26 pm Bilibid Hi Mate, Please becarefull with Symmetric always visit your build as their supervisor is useless. What sort of experience do you have with them? Do you know the quality of the product? Re: Symmetric homes - job status, progress and quality 9Aug 31, 2021 12:33 pm Kippers01 Contractors are responible for their own work. But builders SS's don't check it. They just quickly check its been done so contractors can be paid and the next stage materials and works can be called up to keep the job moving. Volume builders dont have the need nor the resouces to do more than this. Customers need to employ their own consultants to do stage inspections as well as check things themselves if they want a compliant, quality build. Don't expect the builder to do this for you no matter what the salesperson says! I was wondering which builder did you see this process. In reality if all the sub contractors work with ethics and knows what they are doing, still site supervisor should visit and ensure all the parties work is going together well to achieve the final product. With the above said, then the site supervisor name has to change to back end project manager (who just engages the sub contractors but never worry about the integrity of the work or workmanship to ensure the final product is whats in the plans). In reality if all the sub contractors work with ethics and knows what they are doing, still site supervisor must visit and ensure all the parties work is going together well to achieve the final product. Re: Symmetric homes - job status, progress and quality 12Oct 11, 2021 8:04 pm As of today, our lockup was done and invoiced (along with the meter connection charges around 750$ which does not include in the contract price) on 13th Sept last month. Have not able to get our inspector to check the quality due to no plumbing and electrical works done as lockup stage inspection was meant to include pre plaster inspection too. Following 2 weeks shut-down from. 21st sept to 5th Oct, our works are resumed and I have been asked to arrange inspection for this Wednesday 13th Oct. I will have some update about the quality of the works related to lockup later this week. Re: Symmetric homes - job status, progress and quality 14Nov 21, 2021 11:05 am They are doing a fantastic work, even our third party inspectors are giving a very good reviews in compared to the other jobs that they have visited. Because of the process the few things are slipping out that leads to client satisfactory issues, its not the builder issue its also owner issue. As a owner we are siging the drawings. Current state of our job is fixing and water proof done. The over all job is coming out really well and looks quality. Can not wait to see the complete home soon. If you are asking for a bulk head make sure that you ask for a picture. As we got the bulk head just on the top not on the sides. Because we receive the 2D drawings only so it's hard to imagine. Re: Symmetric homes - job status, progress and quality 17Feb 08, 2022 7:34 am Since there are many PM enquiries about this builder and our job status. I'm posting here instead of replying everyone. Unfortunately our house handover is not done yet. I've a walk through tomorrow, will have an update by tomorrow. Awaiting to hear back from them on the details of fix made in the last 2 inspections. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. As per NOC our job started 22/03/2021, contract signed date Dec 2020. It's been 11 months since our construction started. Thank you All the best! 1 4817 Thanks for much mate. I see that you do cabinets before flooring. For timber flooring, for most parts it's fine because it's got base plates, and for door jabs you can… 7 13035 8 6247 |
