Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Riviera 54 2Aug 09, 2021 8:43 pm Tam Tran Hi everyone, We are embarking on a knockdown rebuild project and looking to build the Metricon Riviera 54 plan. Our challenge at the moment is that there is no display for this home (only available for the 65 plan) so we don't know what the end product would look like. Just wondering if anyone in this forum has built the Metricon Riviera 54 plan before. If yes, we would love to hear your feedback and advice on what to pay attention to. Any picture you can share would be fantastic. Thank you in advance, Tam. How far have you progressed with your building . Would appreciate if you could post some pix just to see how it looks. Thank you Re: Metricon Riviera 54 5Nov 01, 2021 12:01 pm Don't worry much about Hebel, it is just a cladding and a decent alternative to bricks. Worry more about waffle pods on reactive soils without drainage, the quality of workmanship and make sure you arrange independent inspections for every phase. Re: Metricon Riviera 54 7Nov 01, 2021 2:36 pm Usually Hebel Powerpanels covered with Dulux acrylic render. What do you mean under how many quotes? If you are talking about coats, then it will be usually two - base coat and acrylic render coat (with integrated paint). Re: Metricon Riviera 54 10Nov 02, 2021 2:48 pm yes most 2 coats AseDe and often not Dulux products. need render, texture and paint to meet waterproof code for non cavity construction, rarely done. watch more closely the panel installation as never correct Re: Metricon Riviera 54 13Nov 26, 2021 10:45 am Hey There, I'm looking at one of these - obviously the spec will differ greatly, but I'd be curious what your price was including all the extras? Also, did you do any modifications to the floorplan and what impact that had? We're not huge on WIRs - sliding robes seem so much more space efficient, and I want to fit in my home gym in BED 5 so I don't want the ensuit or WIRs at all. Re: Metricon Riviera 54 14Dec 15, 2021 5:58 pm Hi, I visited a Riviera home that was under construction in Melbourne in January this year (2021). I think it was the 56 sq. version. My sales consultant was good enough to give me a tour of the house so we could see the large void, even though we weren't actually going to build the same house. Rather we are now in the process of building the Madeira 55, which also has a large void, and like your situation the Madeira doesn't have display that we can see. Anyway I took some photos of the Riviera home, and sharing with you and others to help with the visualisation (assuming you're still building it). It's definitely a nice house and has an openness feeling to it. We are building with a different builder and I would love to copy some of the colours in the house we are building (absolutely love the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry). If anyone is able to share, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks Re: Metricon Riviera 54 16Mar 19, 2022 9:46 am Hi seen your post and just wondering what the cost to build the Madeira 55 is? I need a comparison between the Madeira 55, and the Riviera as we are indecisive between the two. Hopefully this will help between the two. Thanks. Hi, the base cost for our house is 566k which includes the Classique facade. Site works is about 70k, and we're probably going to end up spending around 200k in upgrades. Additionally, we got a total of 50k discount through a promotion (40k) and manager discount (10k). However, I'm not sure if Metricon still offers the Madeira. It is almost identical to the Artisan and they might have merged it with the Artisan (?). I paid the initial deposit in Jan 2021, so the base price may have increased a bit since then. By the way, there is a new Riviera 65 display home that just opened last weekend in Balwyn. Worth a look... Cheers.
