For external walls I would definitely go with R2.5, assuming it is for a standard 90mm stud wall. R2.7 gets some plasterers in a fizz because they reckon it pushes out a bit from the wall cavity. Anyhow we did a fair amount of our own insulation work on our current house and the advantage of the denser R2.5 over R2.0 is the ease of installation. It's basically firmer and holds better when you handle it and stays in place well once in the stud bay. Oh yeah obviously it also reduces temperature gains/losses, which is stating the obvious!
