Back to square one of my question about using HEBAL instead of Brick, is it good or bad or better than traditional brick construction. I had approach one of the custom builder who is very reputed for quality and he constructs with brick and said 10 years before he was apprehensive about using Hebal as he was not confident. But he said later as he gained more confidence and he is using Hebal now in his constructions. In general he said he constructs with brick and at the same time if the customer wants he can use Hebal which results in saving. He said it would be my (as customer) choice and he will be more than happy to use either brick or hebal that I want and he says he does not any doubt about the quality of Hebal. It is just that Hebal is gaining popularity now. So now this being the feedback from one of the custom builder whom I had shortlisted, I just wanted others view on this. Again, I had spoken with Metricon recently and it appears they do use Hebal extensively. When I had asked the sales consultant about the quality of Hebal, he said METRICAL infact uses HEBAL for their high end houses, and he said that is a testament to the fact that HEBAL is good. So I got views from one custom builder (the builder himself) and one sales consultant from big builder. Base on these two people's inputs, I am thinking of why not go for HEBAL, if I am not compromising on the quality and If I say 50K, that is worth the efforts. However my wife is completely against using HEBAL as she said she does not want to take any risk by using a material which many people are not using. So, I am trying to views of the forum especially if somebody had already used HEBAL for construction what is their views Re: Whether construction with Hebal is good? 8Jul 24, 2021 12:58 pm Consult your Engineer about your design and deal with the facts, ie AS3700 Masonry Structures. I don't think anyone in Australia is using AAC blocks (they are heavily used a lot in Europe, US, Asia though) but a lot of builders (including Metricon) are using Hebel AAC Panels for walls as well as for flooring. hi guys.
