Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jul 23, 2021 6:23 pm Hi all, I have discovered one of my roof tiles (terracotta) has a cracked edge. Please see picture. I’m wondering how will I be able to relate this? I know changing it would be the answer but it it is sitting just 1 down from the ridge capping. The tile in question is on the first row horizontal to the gutter. As you can see the hole can take in water and is just over the eaves. I’m sure there is a way to fix. Not worried about the look as it’s out of the way. Was thinking of getting a small piece of older tile, placing it in the gap as close as possible and using tile sealer. Any help would be great. Be liberal with the silicon in the joint and smooth it over the crack to fill any bits that may have been lost. If you can lift the tile above it a little bit you could get some sheet lead that you tuck under the tile above and flash down over the broken bit. The sheet lead can then be formed over the tile shape and stays in place. Was thinking of breaking another piece similar and then sealing all over it with tile silicone.
