Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 18, 2021 8:59 pm Hi, On 17 July, NSW Government announced a pause on all construction, with some exceptions. As of 18 July, I am mid-construction for internal renos. - All internals stripped back on lower floor - 2nd floor (inhabited) is held up by temporary posts - multiple holes in flooring - security issues with unfinished window installation - nails protruding from concrete floor - electrical wiring loose What avenues do I have to pursue a continuation based on lack of safety and security of the site? Thanks Tony Re: Building under NSW COVID Construction pause 2Jul 18, 2021 9:06 pm Tony11984 Hi, On 17 July, NSW Government announced a pause on all construction, with some exceptions. Thanks Tony Tony They have modified the guidelines so in your case the builders can keep going to make your home safe. The issue will be getting the boys out of the south west if thats where they are from, or getting windows and joinery made as I know we were phoning around today and all our suppliers are closed. So we have had to notify our clients that its a 2 week hard shutdown unfortunately. Talk to your builder and see what they can do Cheers Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice. I have a friend who is in the middle of a kitchen renovation with a heavily pregnant wife and young toddler, kitchen just got ripped out. Not giving legal advice but as a builder Service NSW sent us updates yesterday with more details on what we can and cant do, and I am pretty sure you Gladys is fine with making your home safe and liveable during this lockdown. Did you talk to your builder? Hope you are finding a way through this. We have had to stand all of our trades down which is really hard as a lot of them really do live week to week and the $600 isn't going to cover their living expenses. Let's hope we get this Delta strain under control in the next few weeks. cheers Simeon Architectural Homes & Duplexes - specialising in custom designing homes to your budget Get a Free Onsite Consultation Today or send a PM for information, questions or advice.
