Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 22, 2021 10:08 am I need some work done on our roof. It involves a fair amount of ridge cap rebedding and fixing up of slipping tiles around the valleys. So far I have two sets of quotes with different approaches for fixing the issue around the valleys. There are four valleys on our roof - due to an extension built 10 years ago. The repointing has failed and the tiles are slipping causing small (at this stage) leaks into the ceiling. One company has suggested using storm clips to tie the cut tiles down around the valleys. Another says glueing is just as good, and no different to using the clips. The difference is the clips cost about $800 more. I'm really not sure which is the better option to go with. It's really not even to do with the money. It's which one is actually going to work best and not leave us with yet another repair job in 10 years. Will these clips actually work or will they lead to more problems? How long does ''glueing' last? Sam There is a much stronger glue than liquid nails. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete.
