Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 07, 2021 1:48 pm Hi all, we are building in the south west of WA. We have decided to go against the current trend of rendered frontage and are looking at using midland silverbirch brick over the more popular limestone brick. Im finding it really difficult to find anything much online for roof, window, garbage door, even mortar colour combination ideas used with silverbirch. We have a revered blade wall at front of house and rendered pillars in our alfresco so need inspiration for an accent colour here too! We are only a few kms from the beach but have a rural lookout so undecided on what theme to go with at this stage???!! Modern beach (light and bright) or a little more rustic.. Eeek... Any advice and photos of your homes in silverbirch brick would be really appreciated! Cheers, Re: Anyone built with midland silverbirch brick? 2Jan 09, 2021 12:49 am Hi Holly72, Although I have opted to render my front, I have gone with a similar shade brick in Shale from Brikmakers with a white mortar. They look similar in colour (except silver berch has a variance per brick) and I think it can suit any application based on the colours you would put with it. The mortar will really change the look too. With mine I have a white mortar and gone with greys/off whites and a feature pillar of Brikmakers Vintage Red in tumbled so it looks a bit industrial. My advice would be to google home styles and then google your brick colour or similar colours and see what others have done with it and see what resonates with you. Good luck Re: Anyone built with midland silverbirch brick? 3Jan 09, 2021 10:12 pm Hi Sal, I'm finding my Google searches are giving very little in our brick choice. Thank you for your feedback. I love the sound of what your doing and will Google the pillar colour and what tumbled means. Haha Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 7447 wondering anyone built with omaxe homes and care to share their experiences. thanks 0 8846 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair We purchased a 1960s property that is on timber stumps mostly, and a newer section is on concrete stumps.
