As long as Provincial is addressing these mistakes straight away then that's a good thing. I have now heard of 3 families who have used other builders and they (the builders) are either not addressing major problems or are delaying to fix them.
According to one of the neighbours, tradies have been onsite till late. My observation is any "outside" work is the slow process and any inside work is when things speed up....or the building industry has slowed down lately so tradies are more available.
Gutters are done. Next week is underground water tank and rain garden.
Hi SGn3lly
We had a feature wall missing in one bathroom, the feature wall tiles on the wrong wall in the ensuite as well as the remainder of the ensuite being done in a washed out beige colour instead of Gloss White. apparently their code numbers were only 1 number different. We also have the wrong colour grout used on another bathroom wall. Other items that were missed by them and pointed out by us were missing a rooftop whirly bird, missing a niche and missing a water tap at the back of the house. They also had to rip out and re-do a portion of the kitchen as they mis-measured or something. These are items that we have picked up during our 3-4 20 minute visits with the supervisor. I hate to imagine what else they have missed!
Because of the mistakes and slow work, we have also had to commit to a further 3 month lease on the rental property that we are in. We are a month over the contract build time with another 6-8 weeks to go. Even if Provincial come to the party with the rental assistance (which is deducted as a credit at handover rather than cash up front as we go.to actually assist with rent or mortgage payments) .we will be several thousands $'s out of pocket.
