Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First home build,Movida Midvale WA, Smart Homes For Livi 31Nov 05, 2020 8:23 am We've also been quoted and paid deposits on a roller shutter in monument for the front window and crimsafe screens for all the rest of the doors and windows, Pretty hefty outlay but needed to protect our home and belongings I believe so money well spent. We have also submitted all forms for fencing and landscaping and have our completed plan for the landscaping returned and signed off now just need to wait for the site to be ready for it. We wanted little or no maintenance so artificial turf was always number one on our list and after that we were happy to see what they came up with. The gravel in the plan is light but it is basalt so it is a dark gravel. I was hopeful they would include some shrubs or plants, too! Also, Im considering artificial turf as well, but isnt it just lawn grass that Movida is installing? or I can choose either artificial or actual grass? Thank you for posting updates of your house. I am still waiting for the building permit, which was submitted on Friday the 6th. Re: First home build,Movida Midvale WA, Smart Homes For Livi 33Nov 11, 2020 9:37 pm The developer Peet, Include fencing and front landscaping as part of the package. There are forms to fill out when you get to certain milestones during build to get the ball rolling on both fencing and landscaping. Total Eden is the company used for the landscaping and the package provided includes grass, garden beds, plants and retic. soft landscaping basically. The original design that we were shown had garden beds and plants but as neither my wife or I have any interest in gardening whatsoever we decided to go down the easiest of maintenance path which is fake lawn and no plants. Artificial lawn is an extra that will be quoted on top of the package I think our turf has come to $970 installed for our area. Fencing includes three sides but the fixed panel or gate depending on which you choose is an added out of pocket expense to you. We chose a gate and the quote is $650 installed. Drove past on the way to an appointment and the Garage door people had just finished up got a couple of quick photos. Have you been given the date when you can move in? Thank you for sharing landscaping info btw. Guess, I'll have to cough up more money for artificial turf. I also might have to contact a roller door installer as the back of my garage wont have a door in. Re: First home build,Movida Midvale WA, Smart Homes For Livi 35Nov 13, 2020 6:26 am No date set as yet. Couple more weeks I'm guessing till PCI, then a little more time after that to fix anything that is found in the inspection. We always had a date in our heads of around January/February so we will just stick to that time frame. We aren't in any rush as we don't have a mortgage or pay rent currently so it's not a massive deal. We won't move in till all the security is installed, no way are we moving in our stuff for things to get broken into, damaged or stolen Re: First home build,Movida Midvale WA, Smart Homes For Livi 37Jan 16, 2021 8:05 pm Down the hallway from the front door.
