Something also doesn't look right with the brickwork in this photo so maybe it is a problem with the way the picture has come out? There is discolouration, it's actually a bit green we asked about this and were told it is vanadium coming out of the limestone and it sorts itself out over time either way if it doesn't it can be acid washed I believe.
