Just curious how much other people set their provisional allowances to in their building contracts?
Our latest tender has $6,000 PA ($3K kitchen, 2K tiling, 1K electrical).
My first impression is this is very much on the low side and am thinking of pumping these up quite substantially.
So just curious what others did so i can make sure we are in the right ballpark.
We will likely be upgrading our flooring to some form of wood look tile so pretty sure 2K wont get near to covering that.

Tiles we went and looked at the standard selection and decided the allowance upon what we wanted. The electrical hit us hard. We had 3k allowance, and it wasn't enough for Clipsal. We upgraded and added in downlights, and fans and our budget went 2k over. We wanted more powerpoints and pendants but didn't budget that. We built with Coral homes, and went with Beaumonts who let us choose from a 'silver' range which was the standard builder selection. All the advice you are going to get on this one comes down to what your contract says and what variations are allowed and the mechanism for them.
