Is this correct I have had to deal with inspections and I have always been present when any inspection is carried out that I have to sign off on. This is because I have stake in the inspection as much as the builder has, especially if the inspection is deemed independent. I have raises issues with the inspector which the builder missed or otherwise chose not to. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16014Sep 03, 2020 9:46 pm originalcollector Majestic400 originalcollector Hi Thanks for all the comments about Wisdom Homes. We are interested in their knock down rebuild. Can someone help me explain if the process is a long process from signing to completion and is the process with them an informative and clear? Any help would be great We are in NSW We had a tender from Metricon as well. Wisdom Homes did a much better job comparing to Metricon's tender. We liked the details they provided in the tender, but the admin process is very slow, we waited for more than 7 months to get all changes updated and finally our CSR started preparing for the BASIX assessment this week and told us the application will be submitted in November (which is 10 months after we paid the initial deposit!)......and now I have to constantly chasing them up and remind them the outstanding tasks. Hopefully we can get the application submitted early, I will provide updates soon... wow, the process is very long huh? And you are the one chasing Wisdom. Which house design did you end up choosing and was there a lot of customisation you did? Did this cause the delays because you changed from the original? Also, what area are you building in? Thanks for sharing so much...if I am asking too many questions please let me know We are building Majestic 40 + a granny flat, our house design is very similar to the display home in Oran Park, we did not customise it, just followed the same design and changed a few windows sizes. The granny flat design is not from Wisdom Homes, it is a design we downloaded from internet, but I do not think it is a complex design. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16015Sep 07, 2020 6:48 am Norfolk @Rocchet I suggest that if Mark (Wisdom's GM) at WisdomHomes has not already reached out to you about your longstanding shower issue then you should contact him tomorrow 22.11.2019 publicly here (or via PM if you are not comfortable with this approach) to ask him directly what he intends to do to address it. One day is reasonable to wait so you should expect a response before 5.00pm. Please let forum members know how you go with this, what response you get? This is an excellent opportunity for Wisdom to demonstrate their customer care process and business ethics to their potential new customers viewing this thread with some action. Offer Wisdom Homes a reasonable opportunity to acknowledge and fix the issue before escalating it to the company’s owners. From my recent experience and observations, leveraging social media can be effective in getting things done in such circumstances like this. Following your earlier comments, positive customer experiences on this thread are important to Wisdom Homes for their marketing, their future sales pipeline and asset value. Finally got a response and had the issue escalated at head office. Told I’d be the first job after Christmas shut down..... then nothing. Multiple more calls to head office from March got it going again (the receptionist there is lovely and helpful) Multiple excuses (that person doesn’t work for us anymore, they weren’t our best...) but finally told they’d take out the tiles in the shower, rewaterproof and retile. Told I’d have a new bathroom in a week and a half and it took a few months but hey, I’ve waited 3 years lol Such a relief. majestic35.weebly.com Building with Wisdom Homes 16016Sep 07, 2020 7:18 am
hi rocchet your kitchen looks great! Do you have any updated/ completed pics of your kitchen and overall build?
Here is the kitchen after we moved in. I love it. No regrets about anything (although hubby would say get the hose tap as the tap is quite high and can splash a lot of water out the back if you don’t hold the items in the sink, but that’s more a user issue lol) And a few other pics of completed rooms Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ majestic35.weebly.com Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 16017Sep 07, 2020 8:48 am malypetu Hi Guys, Can anybody explain how the inspections work? I have been told the inspections are Independent, meaning I cannot be present while they are carried out and only to have a meeting with SS afterwards. Is this correct? I honestly don't have much to talk to the inspector while he's working on the inspection, so no see much of a point on the "Independent". From my point of view, I'll get the report and I can study it and talk to SS about the relevant points in there later on. Am I missing something? Cheers You have every right to be there at the inspection. The inspection is independent from the builder, not from you. You may pick up on issues that the inspector missed and then are able to get it included in their report. My supervisor tried this nonsense with me too and I referred him back to the contract. They just want to prevent you from finding more issues and creating more work for them.
