I am building on a sloping land. Basically, my alfresco slab will be about 600mm higher than my adjacent neighrbour on my alfresco side. They are perpendicular to our block and we only have about 7m in boundary together as i only share half of their back side.
I propose to have a fence with two retaining wall sleepers to maintain the fence on a same height from the front and maintain both of our privacy.
They declined to pay for the sleeper and only want to pay for the fence itself. I agreed on paying 100% of the sleeper myself. However, they changed their mind and said they dont want any sleeper. They want me to just follow the land fall eventhough it will result to 1.2m high fence left from my alfresco slab slab level and I would have an overlooking view of his backyard. They said they dont care if I can see thei backyard as they "won't leave in their alfresco". Now, they won't sign up on the quote and refuse to cooperate.
I wonder if anyone can advice me how to move forward. I certainly don't want to have an overlook on their house and I want to keep our privacy too. The other 4 neigjbours adjacent to us have alreasy agreed to the fence and he is the only one we're waiting for us to proceed.
