DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair

The time has come to remove this old air conditioner. The house is concrete block with render and a textured surface. I am assuming the repair will mirror how the wall was built but would appreciate any insights into any difficulties I might encounter or special advice as to how to do it. Also not sure how the textured pattern was created and if difficult to recreate I will have to disguise the repair by putting artwork or whatever over it. Any thoughts appreciated.
