Choosing a dishwasher

I am in the market to buy a new dishwasher and need some help. I have read some of the old posts on this topic but some of the brand models are not available now as some of the topics on this subject are a few years old. Can anyone help with advice on which model and brand is a good buy. Not looking at getting cheap just want good basics that work e.g.. drying, noise levels, size for wine glasses to fit,
good height for dinner plates etc. Thanks in advance.

Can't go past a Bosch dishwasher if those are your needs.

Don't get the cheapest Bosch one - we nearly did until the sales guy pointed out that the bottom of it was plastic. Most are fully sealed steel insides and he said that the plastic will degenerate over time.
My parents have a Fisher and Paykel and they love it. The one I am talking about retails around $700.00 - $800.00. It is really quiet, and quite unassuming (very plain design) which I liked, so we bought that also. It is still in the box in the shed at our rental though (not quite in our house yet) so I can't say whether I also love it but given my parents have had no issues I don't think I will.

Bought a Asko dishwasher seemed like a god buy with features that I wanted including tall wine glasses fitting on the top shelf.

Has anyone got any experience with Bosch integrated dishwasher SMV88TX01A Series 8 or SMV63M10AU Series 6? We are thinking of getting either but would like to know if you have got this in your home how the noise is?

I'm getting series 8 for our new build. I had an older Bosch and it was super quiet. Most noise came from under the sink and you could probably insulate pipes to make it even quieter.

important things to look for when buying a dishwasher

built under, integrated or fully integrated

the layout of the drawers
go for XXL if your bench height allows
noise level 42dB
with Zeolite, drying is much much better
don't go for the most efficient, some use too little water and/or too little electricity (drying is not so good)

Hi if anyone in the Perth area is interested in buying a Bosch SMS40E08AU dishwasher let me know I have one brand new still in its packaging was going to use it in the house I'm renovating at the moment but things have changed and i need the money for elsewhere. i thought id just put it out there ill obviously sell it to someone for cheaper then the retail price

Hate daughter's Bosch. Consider what you will wash in it. I have large odd shaped items so I need flexibility to where they are placed so fixed holders is a no no for me. I love the double cutlery basket which can be made single to save space. Look at the shelf holders and rollers. Do they look like they may break over time. No exposed heating elements - not sure if they are even made like that anymore. You want one that shuts off when finished so it does not turn on all night

When considering a dishwasher look at how the runner wheels are constructed as these are the weakest part and may need constant replacing

Go with the Bosch SMS60L18IN. I am using it for over 2 years now.

For anyone decided to change the old dishwasher I can recommend Bosh models, with a good price you will get a great machine that looks good.

Pros:

Easy to use from beginners
Quiets while working
Easy to clean
It comes with 5 different wash cycles and 5 different wash options
It is economical.

And judging by this source, Bosch is one of the few companies still assembling equipment at a factory in Germany. Usually this is a better product than those assembled in China.

We upgraded our appliances in our build to Bosch. This is a more affordable one, if you've got some $$$ you can go for a Series 4.
