Browse Forums Building A New House Re: House plan 12Jul 22, 2020 12:46 pm oklouise external walls could be 250mm and internal walls could be 90mm..ask your builder what they use..the smaller media room allows space for bigger other rooms without increasing the overall size of the whole house..but every small increase adds to the cost and depends on the limit of width and length of the whole house and distance from all boundaries..i'm happy to do the variations but it does take hours of painstaking work so will have to wait till later..but you should test all the room sizes by using a tape measure in your existing home and or visit lots of exhibition homes with furniture as we think we want/need bigger rooms but all depends on how the room will be used and by how many people..the original entry and central hallway were much too small because of the potential traffic jams with more than two people using those spaces at the same but i made the family dining and kitchen longer but, in the media room everyone sits to watch TV and the minor reduction in space is not so noticeable..but, if you look all around my plans you will see small striped rectangles that show every location that you can add furniture (chest of drawers, book shelf, TV cabinet, buffet, desk etc) and still allow plenty of space to walk around the rooms Thanks for the reply. We have one child now but we're hoping to have 2 more in the future and 2 will have to share a room so i liked that you placed 2 small beds in 2 of the bedrooms for when the need comes. We intend to keep one room for guests as we always have people visiting from out of town. Yes I was trying to figure out how to incorporate a "drop zone" as its good to have one so I like what you did there. As you said, I can put some sort of furniture there for additional storage or use it as a drop zone. I've done a few measurements of where we live currently and the rooms are quiet small so I want bigger rooms. I'll have a chat with my builder about the size of the walls they use. What's acceptable and what isn't? Thanks i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17286 5 10494 Hi, Seeking volume or semi-custom builder in victoria(east), which have existing double story wide floor plans.
