Cheers mate Re: final payment 10% at handover 5Jul 13, 2020 9:51 am Norfolk @jo11 what are the issues? hi Norfolk we are not happy with were the quality finishes they did to our square set cornices, and the poor workmanship they did to the joinery at box/bay window. they said they will rectify them, but won't be up to the quality we are expected. I have seen other builder's display homes, and their SQ cornice is more neat compared to Rawson homes. but they said their is acceptable, so they won't do anything more to that cornice. for the joinery at box/bay window, they agreed to fix the damage defect, but did not agree to fix the edging which they short-cut the laminate and filled with pink silicon, plus poor finish for the edging along the bench which appeared like black line along the bench. the quality finishes for both of the issues were not what we thought we should have paid full amount for as upgrades. we thought to take it with fair trading, but they might not consider as defects, they are more like poor quality finishes. so fair trading might not be helpful in this case. we also found issue with window, they were 5mm out of plumb. one of the window is 2.5m wide, is it considered within building tolerances or must they rectify? thanks thanks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ regardless, your contract stipulates a payments schedule and SOPA doesn't give provision to that scenario.
