I guess all I want to do is to turn the pump off. I do not necessarily need to drain it. I guess my real question is does it matter if I have a very green pool with green algae on the walls vs reasonably cleaner pool before starting painting process? I assume as I will be sanding the pool before I paint, so the pool's condition does not matter, right? Re: Pool Cost Savings - Draining Over Winter To Paint 4Jun 12, 2020 12:40 pm as you are going to drain the pool i would just shut it down algae does not grow very fast when water temp is under 16c if you raise your chlorine level now and then shut down it should stay reasonable for you Hey everyone, With winter just around the corner, I'm starting to think about how to prepare my home and garden for the cooler weather.
