Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 06, 2020 4:39 pm I have a concretor proposing to undertake the demolition, removal and re-laying of aggregate finish concrete in one day. This work entails dowelling, piering as well as well as the provision of strip footing and re-laying of concrete to achieve exposed aggregate finish covering an area of around 20sq metres. The concretor maintains the view that all concreting should done in ONE day without the necessity of allowing the curation of sub-structures (piers). I have expressed my preference that the piers should be allowed to cure for at least 24hours to enable to take the weight of the concrete pathway, Does anyone have any other viewpoints to offer/add? Re: Relaying of concrete 3Jun 06, 2020 11:02 pm Does this imply that pouring all in one go offer improved structural integrity over a two stage pour where the piers are done first followed by the surface layer in 24hours?I cant see to get a consensus on this from local concrete specialists.
