This may or may not require as it depend on your specific roof tile. Also they will have to cut or drill few tiles to send wires through. Yeah we did solar system in about 4 months after handover, this was after their 3 months warranty inspection. I was applying for VIC solar rebate but because house was very new they needed house contract details etc to check for my qualification for the rebate and that took almost an extra month. Carlisle left us few tiles but I researched and called Monior and found a reseller and bought another 30 tiles just in case but only needed 3 or 4 during installation. but better to have at least 10 ready if you do post handover. Thanks Ramee. Is your VIC solar rebate the same as STCs that solar provider put in their quote or they are different? Which provider did you get the solar system installed from? And which energy company that you use to sell the tariff to them for any unused power? Thanks Hi makido, sorry for the late reply, if you like to research bit about solar systems and installers this is a good resource.. https://www.solarquotes.com.au/solar101.html VIC solar rebate is in addition to STC and only for Victoria. STC is a government incentive for any qualified installation in whole Australia and it is automatically calculated and deducted by your preferred installer. For VIC solar rebate https://www.solar.vic.gov.au/solar-panel-rebate I got my system installed from a company called Energy Aware. My electricity provider is Energy Australia and I haven't decided to change from them yet after I got solar installed. Almost all the main electricity retailers will accept solar export and will credit you back. All these will be organised by your installer and you don't have to worry too much about it. Re: Solar Power System Huawei Sun 2000 5kW or Fronius Symo 5 13May 24, 2020 3:47 pm makido Althom makido Hi everyone, I'm the building the home and planning to install the Solar Power System. We are in Victoria and got the quote for both Huawei Sun 2000 5kW 3ph 2MPPT or Fronius Symo 5.0kW 3 Phase with 21 x Q CELLS Q.PEAK G4 310W. Does anyone have experience with the Huawei inverter? Huawei Sun 2000 5kW 3ph 2MPPT are $500 cheaper than the ronius Symo 5.0kW 3 Phase. Huawei looks nicer but not sure about the quality compared to Fronius. And is Q CELLS Q.PEAK G4 310W good quality? And which company have the best deal in Melbourne? Can I have your opinion on which one should I take please? Thanks! From personal experience warranty work through Fronius is "difficult". Make sure whichever installer you use is willing to provide backup service to match their installation. Lots of cowboys out there who'll do an install and then not back it up. Thanks Althom, which company installer did you use? So your personal experience warranty work for Fronius is direct with Fronius or through the installer? What was the issue that you had with Fronius inverter and how old was your Fronius inverter when you had the issue? Thanks We had Infinite Energy as the installer. When our Fronius Inverter went out on a fault they were quite difficult to get to come out and take a look at the unit but that was nothing compared to the issues we then had trying to get Fronius to honour the warranty. The Inverter was less than 5 years old and failed on Error Code 457. We could never get a proper answer from Fronius as to why it failed. Infinite told us it was a relatively common problem that could sometimes be fixed via a software update but we ended up, eventually, with a new inverter. But I suggest pick a popular one (for less problems) backed with a minimum 5yr manufacturer warranty. As the solar system takes year to yeild return on investment. If you are lucky you may be able to feed in to the grid (these days distributor is not accepting it as the infr is already overloaded). In such case, I would go with the 3phase connection with extra panels for production so you can make money by feeding in to grid more. Otherwise your best option is to buying a Tesla battery and making your home sustainable. I am planning for battery in our new house. How much did it cost you for this system and do you have any idea about cost of Tesla battery? We are planning to install solar panel in couple of months time. Re: Solar Power System Huawei Sun 2000 5kW or Fronius Symo 5 18Jul 29, 2020 6:31 pm Hussain sahara We have got the solar system with Govt rebate for around 3k. that is 6.6kw canadian solar panel with 5kw Fronius. I have no idea about Tesla battery, we are not started our new house works yet. Soon I will have to find that out. Re: Solar Power System Huawei Sun 2000 5kW or Fronius Symo 5 19Jul 29, 2020 10:20 pm We moved into our new build in December, had solar by January. We only had single phase into the house. My biggest regret was not running 3-phase to the house to get more solar. If you have 3-phase and have the practical roof space, get much bigger inverter and as many panels as you can install. Doesn't matter with either of those inverters, theyre both good brands. Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
