Their choice of timber filler is way off also looks too dark... Here is a pic where they've adequately sanded before staining: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Substandard: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The stain looks a lot darker then the natural satin we chose hmm? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also I noticed that we'd paid for an extra ducted A/C controller to be installed downstairs and its not there... Couldn't see it in any of the logical places where it should be installed? Looks a lot better now, really happy with how the laundry looks (forgot to snap a pic, but pic below is how it looked before) Week 50: house cleaners are booked silicon seal of wet areas, all rubbish removed and walk through booked late in week 50. Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 130May 11, 2020 10:18 pm That screen might be a different wood which could explain the colour, but obviously the expectation is to match colours and not use the same stain on both. Although if you have chosen the lightest one, Im not sure how they could lighten the screen. Hope you track down your second controller.. they aren't cheap! I remember a while ago there was a thread on here about having a second controller using the Daikin wifi control, but I see in your earlier posts you mention a second controller downstairs. I wonder if they might have done a wifi one? Certainly easier for the installer. Two places that Rawson seem to fail on is stairs and airconditioning. Actually what happened to the outlet that was going to be near the alfresco door? Did you get that sorted to your satisfaction? Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 131May 11, 2020 10:30 pm Our second controller is at the bottom of the stairs. Main controller is at the top of the stairs. We initially said no to a second but when the electrician was in there we asked about chucking one in. They had no dramas doing it as for some reason they had already run the wires. I think it may be the light, more light upstairs and the timber looks lighter less light downstairs making it appear darker. Here are pics displaying the differences with the light & the timber appeared to be the same type (pics taken prior to staining) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Yes I recall reading someone had a wifi controller installed also! Our variation clearly stated this controller type: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I guess if they've forgotten to run cable they'd just set you up on a wifi setup... Now I'm thinking about it I did see a wifi daikin box in WIR where modem etc will be located wondered what that was and didn't think anymore of it, that'd be it for sure! Regarding the A/C outlet that was supposed to be in the middle of the dining room which was plonked next to alfresco door, they moved it basically kinda close to that timber screen off stairway in the hallway and boxed in section upstairs here where red cross is: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 133May 11, 2020 11:17 pm Salfield Our second controller is at the bottom of the stairs. They had no dramas doing it as for some reason they had already run the wires. Wow you got lucky, i asked about installing a CCTV system supervisor said nah cant allow it. I asked the sparky he was too busy to the prewiring as it was just before xmas missed the boat on that one! I wanted main controller downstairs and slave controller upstairs, I didn't get either! I think I'd prefer a wire din unit over wifi also, so I might just have to dig my heels in and get 2nd wired in unit installed also as that's what's in the variation. At no time was I consulted they'd install a wifi system... Have you had any warranty work started yet mate? I raised this issue in novemeber 2019 the poor job on nail hole filling needs to be rectified, SS agreed and said yeh I'm not happy with that work I'm dissapointed in the painters, but yeah 6 + months later still not fixed... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Have excess mortar drops etc on bricks that haven't been cleaned adequately and im sure the tracks in sliding doors etc wont be fully cleaned that are full of concrete and junk all of this will have to get done after handover i bet. Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 134Jun 07, 2020 12:28 pm Great thread, mate. Looks like I'll be the next Rawson on the block. Pretty sure I'm building in the remaining blocks to your right, if I think you are where I think you are. I've been watching the Rawson's along your street over the last two months pretty keenly. We have been suggested this brand and wanted to find out how you are going with the floors that you have? Any issues? We have been suggested this brand and wanted to find out how you are going with the floors that you have? Any issues? We have a few install issues, the co who installed them is being difficult to deal with and we're not getting any resolutions (apparently the boards got wet during transit so we have a few boards in our storeroom which didnt fit right) The product itself though we've been happy with. I wanted solid timber flooring but rawson didnt do it so this was a comprimise. likes: relatively affordable, relatively easy to maintain, if you drop a glass it doesnt smash cons: we have these squeeky spots in the boards where it clicks and crunches as you walk on it (comes and goes dunno if its temperature/humidity dependent?) as mentioned above some boards are protruding due to poor fitment and the installer wont rectify.. Hi mate jeez sorry for the late reply havent been on homeone for quite some time since our build had been completed and we had handover at the end of may! Our house is definately unique so I dont think you would get us mixed up with anyone else Congrats on your commencement of your build with rawson. That street would be a good little spot tucked away and no traffic going down through there. Let me know if you have any questions or if we can help in any way #rawsongang!
