Re: Grout issue Montgomery Homes and Tile Direct 12May 03, 2020 12:21 pm gcnicho I’m not sure you will have much luck with them I’m afraid. After handover from Montgomery last year we had a tiler on site two days a week for 4 months repairing the hundreds of defects in our bathrooms. Dealing with them and Tile Direct (now rebranded as Thynk) put me on the verge of a breakdown as they were also sending in trades for other defect repairs. I still have issues with tiles that don’t line up, or lippage but they refuse to acknowledge those issues. They had the hide to tell me the tiler did a really good job and that some of my defects were just an optical Illusion from the dark tile against a white grout....total rubbish. They then used the excuse that fixing it would create more problems, and the imposition to us now we’re living here would be too much. The next day they told me the floor in one of the showers needed to be redone... so much for their good tiler hey. I would also suggest putting a negative review on the product review website, but do not be pressured into removing it. They will remind you of the contract you signed etc and demand you remove it or they will take legal action. Just remind them that even the people leaving a positive review have broken the terms of the contract. But they’re quite happy to leave those there. Regarding negative reviews, don’t be concerned about any restraining contract clauses, or other attempts at censorship by builders, In 2018 the ACCC has cleared the way for people to comment openly without fear of legal or other action per https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/w ... ract-terms If any builders such as Montgomery Homes threaten consumers with legal action or other actions such as indicating they won't fix defects etc due to negative reviews they should be immediately reported to the ACCC here: https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us/cont ... umer-issue Hi, I am wondering if anyone has built with Montgomery in the last few years on the Northern Beaches? I don't see the see them around, as I would love to ask how happy… 0 3186 Thanks splashers, that makes sense. The waterproofing guy used this Davco product, I will raise the issue with builder and hopefully get resolved with him - if not… 2 12884 Hey guys, what’s everyone opinion on James Hardie linea direct fix to frame?
