I would expect that other elevations will refer to bricks. Also check your plans as they should show brick veneer at the door. I think they are making it easy for themselves. Its not a big or difficult job and they can cut bricks as necessary to fit. Again, I had a similar issue with my front door which Metricon fixed after I pointed it out to them. The builder is BSing you about this to avoid the rectification work required due to their errors.
