Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 97Mar 12, 2020 9:04 am jedigriever ourrawsonbalmoral38 jedigriever Hi, Always looking forward to your weekly updates and it is nice to see how your build is going along. We are at admin stage atm and trying to do my research on multiple things. I have a question since I saw that you got downlight provisions. With the downlight provisions, does this include the plug base and hole cut-out? Meaning will you just be buying downlights that you want and can possible install them yourself? Also, if this is the case, does it mean you can have provisions to ground floor as well? Thanks in advance, I was gonna ask about your strip lighting underneath overhead cupboards but I reread your first post and found the price. So thanks for that! Good luck with your build admin stage was slow for us! With the D/L provision its basically tie cable up in roof cavity. On handover my electrican will saw hole in gyprock then go fishing for cable with a hook and will need to wir ein quick connect socket (I think the sockets are like $5 ea or thereabouts) Yes on a double storey ground floor you must do all provisions beforehand, on first floor on some houses can do wiring etc after handover but we have a skillion roof with minimal room in cavity so just decided to pay rawsons for their D/L provision Thanks. I was hoping the provision included the socket and hole cutout so I can just plug in the downlights myself. Hey Just thought I'd update you, we're having electrical done this week the electrician called asking what size downlight we're going to put in as he needed to know the cutout size. So basically they cut out the holes leave cabling hanging down, so after handover you can use a quick connect socket then plug in the downlights. Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 98Mar 12, 2020 4:28 pm Thanks for the update! That's good to know that they will do the cut-out. One less thing to worry about. I'll have to make sure to confirm at our electrical appointments though. Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 99Mar 12, 2020 5:07 pm That's new. On my build it was just 3 core unterminated with a pilot hole in the ceiling. Re: Rawson Balmoral 38 MK1 - Newcastle NSW 100Mar 12, 2020 9:54 pm SteveMc That's new. On my build it was just 3 core unterminated with a pilot hole in the ceiling. Yeah that's what I was told to expect by the sales admin, probably a case by case basis and depending on what sparky you get? (TBH what we were told at admin stage and what reality is generally completely different though!) The guy we had was a top bloke really helpful friendly and easy going. I was very appreciative of his work and he was even calling to check things and surprisingly sent me pics once he'd completed! Outstanding service from the electrical contractors! Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 3513 hey nedket, We have a similar lot like yours . just wondering how is it going with your DA application, is the Blue line is the correct solution (offset the rear boundary… 1 10160 Hi all, We are looking to build a new two storey house in western Sydney.
