I wonder why you guys managed to do it below $10K. It also looks like most of the windows - at least on your front facade - are awning type? I'll have a better look later once you reply, but one quick comment would be around your west (but also east) glazing. With the west glazing in particular have a think about any potential future options for external awnings/blinds or maybe pergola type structures which could offer some sun protection in summer? ** Is the front of your house facing south or north? I wasn't sure from the elevations sorry. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here Re: Building with Metricon 8540Feb 06, 2020 7:51 pm darb74 Hi again, Just taking a quick look at some of your windows (on the front elevation), are those 'transoms' splitting up the windows into small sections....does that mean each main window sash will have like 6 individual sections of glass? The front is facing west so will get the most heat. But the cost for those 7 front windows are $14k.... We’re going to use plantation blinds but I don’t how effective they are to block the sun. I cannot do much with the front because it will ruin the provincial facade which M charged $40k ish Metricon - Liberty 38 with Provincial facade - Ryde https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic. ... &p=1859996 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
