Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 08, 2020 5:52 pm We have a really large retaining wall in our back al fresco area of the house we just moved in to. It overall seems to be in pretty good condition with only a couple of the beams showing some rot but we would really love to update the look of these very drag beams. First I would think they need to be treated in some way to avoid further rot of any of the beams — I can't be sure but I hope the material in between the slabs is a barrier of sorts? The dream would be to eventually paint them and start a vertical garden and add other plants. In case the scale is clear, it stands about 7ft tall and each section is roughly sqaure so approx 21ft in the tall area and 30ft total where it lowers down. Thanks! . Wasn't sure how to tell myself as (naively) thought treated pine would tiny a bit more yellow. These main sleepers look great, it's just a couple on the low side where they have some rot. Am I right that the material in between the slabs is a barrier of sorts from the dirt wall to the sleepers? Look forward to see the vertical garden! MC Registered Building - Always happy to help where I can and simply loves the game. DM me if you need help in VIC. Thank you again Simeon..
