A bit quiet on the forum lately so thought I’ll post that we are still in the brick stage for our build. This will be week 3 and given a timeline to finish this stage by the end of this week. For those getting handover this month, how’s it going? Hi M4bath, hope it’s going well for you. We are building the Diplomat so not sure if that is similar at all. We had not considered making them controllable, just movable would be a huge improvement in function, I understand that council regulations require SOME louvred screens have fixed blades but I would have really appreciated my options to be presented fully. WH would have made more money from it so it would have been a win-win. It’s something that is quite frustrating and such an expense to fix after handover. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15397Dec 18, 2019 8:20 am Hi All, Probably this post is going to be off-topic but it may be of help to somebody. We are about to demolish the house and for that, there are a few pre-conditions required: * Disconnect the water supply * Disconnect electricity * Disconnect NBN (and connect in the rental premises Christmas break is a headache) * Abolish Gas (in case you have gas) pain in the back side!! Gas abolishment it is the sole responsibility of the owner and it is a bit tricky. Firstly, takes about 20 working days to be done (Jemena) and cost around $1500, if this is not in sync with your demolition company it will be a costly headache and creates unnecesary delays. There is now in place a freeze due to Christmas break, that will put your gas abolishment right after they come back in January. On another topic if you do have trees to be removed you need to contact your council for approval, however if your site is in a 10/50 area defined by NSW Rural Fire Service (this is a risk bushfire area) you may qualify to remove the tree based on that rule. Check this web site (https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-pre ... aring/tool) and then corroborate with your local council. This way you may save some time for approval. Hope this helps, we are now preparing everything for moving the family out to start demolition in January, hectic time but we are very exited to start everything. Cheers Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 15398Dec 18, 2019 10:06 am Just wondering is it possible to change door opening direction post handover. Would like to have the pantry door to open outwards instead of inwards, assuming its not against building code or regulations.
