Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 17, 2019 4:06 pm Hi there, so we sold our home in June 2019. We have given the agent the permission to provide my contact number to the new owner in case they have questions when they moved in, although we have given them all the manuals and plans. I've been receiving queries on a regular basis even if they have already moved in and settled for almost half a year now. I wonder if this is normal with others? Basic questions like how to use the dishwasher etc. I don't want to be rude but most of the time I am so busy and no extra time to call back and provide detailed instructions. I have already explained to refer to instruction manuals. If you are in a similar situation, what would you do? Thanks Re: You sold your home-do you give your contact# to new owne 3Dec 17, 2019 4:33 pm I've exchanged details as part of past sales, but by and large contact has been limited to me finding extra items that didn’t get handed over or questions from them on more detailed or tricky items, such as who did I use to service something that was in the house. I wouldn’t ever expect to get questions about simple things like how to use a dishwasher, so I think perhaps the new owner is stepping over the line a bit. How you deal with it is a tough one if you wish to remain cordial. On the other hand you don’t owe them anything and it’s unlikely you'll need to see them again, so you could just break it off. As a halfway approach, you might try converting the communication to e-mail, and then you'll be able to formulate responses in your own time, rather than them setting the timetable of when they call. Thanks arcadelt, good to know it's pretty common to exhange contact details. That's very helpful advise. I will let them know to email me if they have any queries, in this case it will be easier for me to respond rather than having to call back every now and then =) Re: You sold your home-do you give your contact# to new owne 5Dec 18, 2019 9:04 am Alternatively you could let the agent handling the sale know that you're willing to take enquiries if they come via him/her. The agent will pretty quickly cut them off if they ask silly questions. It seems to me like there just trying to cash in. Because my bench was 3500mm long they told me I needed to purchase a second slab of caeser stone, which is… 4 10121 4 9552 21 44001 |
