Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 249Dec 17, 2019 2:40 pm Thanks guys, really bummed. It's weird, even though I know everything will be repair and replaced it still stung to have them stolen. And it's getting me paranoid about security of my house. Looks like I'll have to move in as soon as I get the keys and install security to the max. And get home insurance. haha Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 250Dec 19, 2019 9:31 pm Freak_Zombie Thanks guys, really bummed. But on the plus side I've done a ton of shopping for the new house. Got a TON of bargains which allowed me to buy more furniture that I wanted. Dialled waaaay back on what I wanted in a fridge and washing machine so I could allocate the funds to other items. I managed to get my dining room lights for about $657 (if I remember correctly) over the new year day sales. woohoo! And got a few sofa sets for much cheaper due to clearance. Mainly cause they were much larger and the shops were saying that the bigger furniture are harder to move these days. Mainly cause of smaller houses? Regardless, I got 'em at great prices. I decided to go with a different direction for my home theatre room seating, I think you guys would love it. Right now I'm hoping the move in date would be end of next month or March. With most of my furniture coming in around then too. I'm hoping to have most items settled by April. Nothing like shopping for bits and pieces to really "finish" your new house, and turn it into a home. Can't wait to see all the fittings and furniture in and photographed! https://thomasarcherbuild.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html - Thomas Archer Homes - Custom Nouveau 41 Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 254Feb 02, 2020 12:37 am Freak_Zombie Doulton777 Freak_Zombie Thanks guys, really bummed. Canāt wait to see what it looks like all dressed up. Anymore progress since? Anymore progress since? The payment part isn't so exciting though. hahaha Looks like it'll only be ready mid March at the earliest. The site supervisor hinted they might have to do the kitchen island post handover but I don't think I'll let that happen. They are trying to get out of doing it for me cause it's a very costly mistake for them. Plus the company supplying their stone have closed down. Also they messed up again, they aren't providing the silestone to my bar! Was so annoyed about that. I had to go through so much emails to find the evidence of it cause it wasn't mentioned on the paperwork. What a waste of time that was. Hold off any final payment until it is right. You will be forever fighting them to get it done after handover, once they have their money. I know you want to get in there ASAP and donāt want hold ups, but believe me... this time goes quickly when you look back - get the house right first. It is so frustrating when you are in your new home and still battling with them to come and fix things. Good luck!! Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 257Feb 08, 2020 9:36 am Thanks for the advice! Will do, will not make payment till it's all fixed. BTW I'm not an expert framer but is this acceptable? Do u have an independent inspector? Email pics to them. Re: Metricon Sentosa 52 Modified 259Feb 23, 2020 8:59 pm Spoke to someone about it. Apparently those are just for temporary support. Not much progress this week but they did fix my pergola! Looks much better now! š
