Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Interim Occupation Certificate NSW 2Nov 14, 2019 12:16 pm andyscl We would like to find out whether a builder can still obtain an interim occupation certificate. We understand that from 1 September 2018, a developer who has an existing development consent will not be able to obtain an interim occupation certificate for a partially completed building, or part of a building. However, we were told that the new rule was extended by 12 months to 1 September 2019. Most of the Knock Down Rebuild, the builder will have the condition to only obtain interim occupation certificate for the client in the contract. This is because the builders are not responsible for the driveway and landscaping. These items will be done after the handover by the client. Anyone has any experiences recently in obtaining an interim occupation certificate? Thank you. Got Hand over on 4 October 2019, but only got Interim OC but the its not due to driveway or landscaping. The condition for full OC doesn't talk about driveway or landscaping. I have a friend who built with the same builder got full OC without driveway or landscaping.
