Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Bardia - New Breeze 1206Nov 04, 2019 8:03 am Hi Fellow neighbours, I have moved into the area and have a question for everyone who has already built and moved in regarding the 90 days defect and liability period. Could you please share your experience? For me, I have moved into my new house for almost 2 months now and I am concerned about a few areas stated below:
Further to the above, I've had a major plumbing issue where my sewer pipe was blocked and started overflowing from the overflow pipe. I had plumbers visit multiple time advising it was a major issue and they would need to come back. To my surprise, when I got back home after work one day, there was excavator in my front yard digging up a massive hole and about 4 plumbers trying to fix the issue. They managed to fix the issues apparently. I was told the issue was with building materials being deposited in the pipe. What I am annoyed about here is, no one - neither the plumber nor the builder made a contact to me- no calls, messages or email and started digging in my front yard without my permission. Also, they have destroyed my front yard roughly about 4m X 4m. It's been almost 10 days since this was done. I still have not heard from the builder nor the plumber. Do you know if the builder is supposed to come back and fix my front yard? The builders carried out the turfing in the front yard. Thanking everyone in advance. _ JD Re: Building at Bardia - New Breeze 1209Nov 06, 2019 4:37 pm Hi Guys, Did any of you arrange the Sydney Water approval yourself? Did you need to refer to a Water Services Coordinator? Apparently Sydney Water doesn't own any of the mains and therefore can't approve anything via the Tap In site. Thanks Re: Building at Bardia - New Breeze 1210Nov 06, 2019 4:38 pm keepajon Hi Fellow neighbours, I have moved into the area and have a question for everyone who has already built and moved in regarding the 90 days defect and liability period. Hi Cooky, Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any suggestions for an inspector and how much do they cost? Do they only look at major building defects or minor issues as well? Thanking in advance- JD Re: Building at Bardia - New Breeze 1213Nov 07, 2019 10:07 am keepajon dolphin33 We used Southwest Property Inspections last build (2017). We haven't started our new build yet, so can't speak for them recently. Check the link below and scroll right to the bottom, this will tell you what is covered as part of that. SW Property Inspection - End of Defect Liability Check Cost wise, it will vary from company to company. You are best to do a quick google, get a small list of property inspection companies and call them to compare prices and what's included in the report etc. Re: Building at Bardia - New Breeze 1214Nov 07, 2019 9:14 pm Has anyone been to their property in stage 3.1? When's the last time you went to your street? They started flowering about a week ago I think?! It lasts for one month. Aww no Why do you need to remove the tree? Ours is smack bang right infront of our house. Hopefully it doesn't get annoying! So, we will need to get it moved as pushing it over isnt a choice as I'm on a corner and will block view from the side. I go everyday!
