In terms of converting from a standard CSD to a 'flush to jamb' version (google it as both Corinthian and Hume both supply the two versions in all sizes), the actual wall space required is another 50mm, but I am assuming by the look of your plan this will be ok. The different versions simply allow the entire door to hide away completely into the cavity, whereas standard CSDs protrude around 60mm. To get an idea if you entry space there, I would suggest measuring this out (either 560mm or 620mm depending on which version CSD) and get a feel for what it will be like. We have setup both our last houses with no door into the WIRs, just a basic plaster hamper making it feel like you are entering a different space. if you feel the risk of the gap being too small is not worth it, personally I would just remove the door and then you can make the opening as big as you want.....but I would still then ask for a plaster hamper to be built. Here is the plan for our new build with respect to no door on the WIR, and a 'Flush Fit' CSD leading into the ensuite: Our opening to the WIR is 1000mm wide, with a 200mm high plaster hamper above the opening. Our 'Flush Fit' CSD is an 820, and we get the full 820 width, otherwise with a standard CSD this width would be around 760mm.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ One other minor thing I noticed, is I would ask your SS nicely if they could install another manhole in the garage. Having one available in the garage means trades later on have access to your roof without having always drag their ladders and tools through your house. That's a great idea!! I have never thought of having a manhole in the Garage, but I will ask my SS about this. We are actually meeting him for the first time today at 2pm.. excited as construction is going o begin shortly!! Thanks for all your tips darb74 I really appreciate it. We should commence construction later this month as well. Hey Canopus! I'm sorry for not updating! It's been very busy for us, we are getting married in January so its less than two months now haha and we have so many little things to do before then! The build is going really well! I don't have a lot more photos, but the roof has gone up, the frames up as well and electrical and plumbing is complete! The bricks are scheduled to go up today, we are doing the insulation for the inner walls (soundproofing it ourselves, the site supervisor is really nice and approved us going in and doing this ourselves). The wall plasters are going up tomorrow. Everything has been happening so quick its so hard to keep up with everything haha. I'll try and update more often Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Simonds - Mebbin 25 - Melbourne North build log 13Nov 11, 2019 3:49 pm Dui2705 Canopus Hi dui2705 Hope all is going well with your build - any further updates to your build log?
