Browse Forums Building A New House Re: WA - Home Security - After Handover or With Builder 3Sep 12, 2019 11:09 am Vivek28 Hi Kester I am getting alarm and CCTV from thrid party after handover as I am getting Control4 (smart home system installed) and the third party is providing them which are compatible with Control4. However I had all the provisioning like data points for CCTV and security wiring from the builder as part of the construction. Hope it helps! Cheers! Hi Vivek28, Can you elaborate on what provisioning I need for that? Per line item would be helpful. Thank you. Re: WA - Home Security - After Handover or With Builder 4Sep 12, 2019 12:06 pm Hey Kester Sure but it depends on how you plan to use them. I am getting all these fed into my home automation system, Control4, and will control them from it. So what that needs is to get your data points and security cablinging running back to the point where you will install Control4. Regardless of whether you get home automation system or not, you should get the following from your builder as part of your electrical plan. - CCTV: data points where you want to install the individual cameras and the receiving unit (inside the house). - Alarm: same as CCTV but get security pre-wiring inside the house of where you want the motion sensors. Also provision for internal siren and external strobe (if you want). Hope that helps and good luck!
