Are there certain stages you would recommend getting inspected over others? Be good to know how many in total. Also if Darbecca did find an issue, did UE fix it satisfactorily? Also did UE tell you that for every inspection that your build would be delayed by 2 weeks? Cheers, Norts33 Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 26Aug 21, 2019 8:58 am Norts33 Hi Brokenstick, How did you go with Darbecca? We did all inspections and they found quite a few things, many of which were minor. UE responded to each item on each report and fixed most of them. I compromised on some as they were quite pedantic. I had a lot of negotiation over that clause and in the end they changed it to say that it would only be extended if the job need to be put on hold for further assessment, and that this would be done by way of variation. As it happened the build finished a few months ahead of schedule, so had no issues Re: KDR + Building Urban Edge Andu 43 27Apr 02, 2020 12:26 pm brokenstick Norts33 Hi Brokenstick, How did you go with Darbecca? As it happened the build finished a few months ahead of schedule, so had no issues I ended up employing the services of Darbecca. Well worth it. Similar story to yours, doing all inspections, a lot of minor issues which to date majority have been corrected, but good to have the checks and balances in place to avoid small issues now becoming bigger/costly issues down the road. Still only under half way through the build, so a long road ahead still. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 24785 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 13488 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 8182 |
