Just wondering if it’s worth getting the ducted vacuum in a new house? Please suggest.
Thanks

Personally, I don’t think so, but it might depend on how you clean. We had a ducted vacuum in one house, and it was quite good, but only had one inlet and the hose was ridiculously long to reach every part of the house. However, since then we've moved several times and bought two Dyson barrel vacuum cleaners, a Samsung robot vacuum cleaner and, most recently, a Dyson stick vacuum. Originally when we built our current house, I might have considered a ducted vacuum instead of the barrel vacuums, as long as there were inlets in every room, and possibly two in larger rooms so that the hose was kept short. But, since owning the robot, and especially now the stick vacuum, I would never consider it. In fact, as much as I like the robot vacuum cleaner, for me the stick vacuum is the best vacuum I have ever owned, and the combination of the two really suits the way we clean. We still have the two barrel vacuums, but they are now relegated to garage and car duties. Re: Ducted Vacuum 6Aug 05, 2019 11:05 pm I previously lived in a place which had ducted vacuum, it does have its pros & cons. + Suction Power + All dust sucked up leaves room + Quiet - Long hose rubs on walls & furniture - Long hose is cumbersome - Blockages are a pain I passed on getting ducted on our new place & have the Dyson V10 stick vac now, I much prefer & recommend it over a ducted vac. Re: Ducted Vacuum 7Aug 06, 2019 3:17 pm I would happily second the Dyson stick vac option instead of duct vac. We had duct vac included in the building allowance (around 2k) and we instead bought v11 just over 1k. When we thought hard about it, and we could't stand the idea of running a highway for "potential" vermin if/when it manage to get inside the duct via a damaged and discarded vac in the garage !
