I googled your product code and name to see if I could find your sample chart to look for a closer match but the results come back looking more like your floor than the grey sample you posted. Not sure if its the same manufacturer etc. http://www.gloriaflooring.com.au/cms/pr ... wash-9901/ https://smartchoicefloors.com.au/index. ... duct_id=12 Did you see the sample in person? edit: https://www.rugsflooring.com.au/timberl ... 2-3mm.html Ok this is topdeck as you've said and looks greyer. I wonder if its the same code and name but a different manufacturer? Yeah I thought must be different manufacturers but I grabbed an empty box out of the bin and it had the name, code etc as per the website. Colour is way different. We didn’t get a sample at the time of choosing it but I took a picture of it which is one of my earlier posts. It’s definitely greyer. I think I might like this floor better. Not sure. A little bit of warmth is ok, and with your first photo seeing it a room scale with the fireplace and walls it looks good, and pretty nice combination. What finish do they put on the concrete next to the steps? Some plasterboard? What finish do they put on the concrete next to the steps? Some plasterboard? That’s another issue. 😔. We have a few drop edge beams with the bigger ones in the garage. They have refused to render the walls in the garage even though they look 💩 They have agreed to render the little bit that you mentioned that’s in these pics. Not sure what colour it will be. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 187Jul 18, 2019 8:30 am That flooring definately doesn't look like lime wash to me, but I'm not a fan of lime wash personally... I think if you're OK with it, that will be the best option, but wow it definitely is a lot different! this has (got me worried for our laminate flooring!) Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 188Jul 18, 2019 8:40 am Salfield, while it's disappointing to have gone through all the agony of choosing just the right "something", I personally think your floor looks great. We had a problem with our tiles (all our flooring is the same 900mm-long tiles). We'd chosen something a bit unusual, but the tiler discovered that the entire batch the tile-wholesaler had was bowed, so we had to choose something different & not the exact same colour. It bothered us for a short while, but a week later we were both over the "what ifs" and were happy with what we have. In fact, I personally think you take all colours & finishes & fittings etc for granted not long after you move in, and you stop even noticing such things. You just enjoy the comfort & utility of your new house. Yeah I don’t mind it, it’s a change from grey on grey but unfortunately we have picked some furniture with the grey/lime floor colour in mind. The other thing I’m thinking of is, if we need to order flooring if something went wrong in the future, if we order lime wash, we won’t get the same colour? 🤷🏼♂️ Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 190Jul 18, 2019 11:47 am All I can say is if you’re happy with a change in floors (it’s clearly different) I’d let it go. It would be a massive delay getting it fixed. The ones they’ve installed do look good even if you didn’t choose them. Personally, I’d be furious, but I was very keen on our floors and spent a long time deciding which ones to get. We didn’t spend a heap of time on the laminate which maybe we should have. Just took Julie’s advice. As long as it looks good I guess. Can I ask did you guys do laminate or hard wood. If laminate does it make any noise. Thanks jan. I think we are just going to live with it rather than get into another fight. 😁 Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 195Jul 19, 2019 9:21 pm Well I was actually happier than I’ve ever been during this whole ordeal tonight but then it got spoilt once again. Anyway, the happy joy joy part is, we have carpet. Carpet lads came early and knocked it off and we couldn’t be happier with it. Kids love it and didn’t want to leave. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 196Jul 20, 2019 3:16 am What do the drawings say? Are they a little more sensible or give you something to go back to them on? Can the end post be in line with the railing ,or make the railing flush with the wall, and if law says you need a railing for the two steps, just have a separate short one on the wall... but then the other 4 steps don't appear to have one? That's right near the earlier unpainted concrete edge isnt it? They could have run a post down that wall and fixed it there and make it more in line with the end post. In fact you could put the same detailing you have on your main stairwell as well. I'm sure you've also wondered why they didn't do it any number of other ways too. I agree the stairs and upstairs looks great. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 197Jul 20, 2019 6:35 am luxbuild What do the drawings say? We never saw drawings of it, we just paid the extra coin for it. It was only put in yesterday so we haven’t had a chance to put it to the SS. We won’t be excepting it as is that’s for sure. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 198Jul 25, 2019 9:46 am Mate I feel for you, apart from the design of it I assume it's meant to be white like the upstairs railings and what's with that very visible gap where the bottom of the post meets the floor? Fingers crossed it's not 100% finished and you've just seen it half way through with more yet to be completed on it. Out of interest have you engaged the services of any third party inspection reports or anything like that during your build? We're using Houspect for reports at various stages and just got our Pre-Lining inspection done yesterday, all I can say is wow, so many defects. We'll be asking for everything on the report to be fixed up and then re-inspected by Houspect again before any insulation or drywall goes up that's for sure. So you've found them good? What inspections have you had done? Im guess slab then pre lining.. ? edit: Have you found Rawson ok to work with your inspections? I'd hate to organize it and then get problems with Rawson getting it done etc. Re: KDR - Rawson Chifley 42 mark ii in Newcastle. 200Jul 25, 2019 2:11 pm JiMb00 Mate I feel for you, apart from the design of it I assume it's meant to be white like the upstairs railings and what's with that very visible gap where the bottom of the post meets the floor? No we haven’t used a third party up until now. We will be getting a handover inspection. Supposedly Rawson are supposed to have an independent inspection done for you. I went around with our SS yesterday and did our mark up and then the independent people come in sometime today or tomorrow and also go over it. I spoke to the SS about it and he has just told them it has to come out and be done again but done the way he told them to do it. The painters are due back so it was to be painted BUT that thing in the picture was complete. As you said gaps at both ends, gap between the wall, etc. SS was as shocked as us.
