Go and get your own soil test and go as deep as you can ie 3 metres or more down to natural if possible. Use the same engineer that Metricon use but you are the customer. Take that soil test BACK to Metricon and get a real fixed price quote and ask for discounts, you might be pleasantly surprised. If that salesman is being stubborn, call head office and complain, they will find you a new salesman. Sign nothing until the fixed price is loaded with discounts and specials. I did the above, works a treat. Don't use any other volume builder, Metricon are masters of the project build. Get an independent inspection done at EVERY stage and make sure they fix every defect.
