Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bryan & Petersen Build in Regional Victoria 80Jul 14, 2019 8:33 pm VINYL PLANK FLOORING We grabbed some more colour samples of the National Tiles 'Vale' vinyl planks today and dropped around the house to see how they looked in the main living area. Our original choice (Tope Oak) is the darkest, but now we're thinking we might go with the slightly lighter option of 'Honey Oak'. The really light one is 'Blonde Oak', but we think it doesn't provide enough contrast to the kitchen etc. So here are the four colours we looked at: From left...'Blonde Oak', 'Honey Oak', 'Tope Oak' and 'Sugar Gum' on the right. The one 2nd from the left (Honey Oak) is what we are thinking of going with, mostly because it has some nice variation and will hopefully warm up our living space nicely.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is the 'Honey Oak' on it's own without the camera flash, so closer to how it looks in realityLike ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We noticed the plasterer's had been in to put up our final bits of cornice in the kitchen and pantry areas: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Just another angle looking from pantry door back towards the dining/lounge area. Shows our LED light bar over the island (1.5m)....it actually has 2 light colours (warm and cool) depending on how many times you supposedly flick the switch! weird!Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was finishing off some perimeter insulation, so figured I may as well take some photos of the roof area: This shows the perimeter insulation batts we installed a while ago, along with some wall wrap to hopefully 'hold in' the blown in cellulose insulation that goes in just before handover.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This shows the electric motors for the baffles in the central heating system. We have upgraded to 3 zones, so these components open and close depending on what zones are turned on.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I noticed these duct extensions on all the exhaust fans and asking the builder the other day the sparkies do this particularly the assist with clearing the depth of blown in insulation.Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Check our Homeone build blog here I have posted this before: We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 4480 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17511 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10404 |
