You can check and use this as a minimum guide and look at the wakaflex install notes and it states it should be chased into the brickwork and/or over flashed. In my view it should be over flashed no matter what. Concerned with rain hitting the brick wall and down the back of flashing. The adhesive over time will degrade allowing ingress of water.
