Obviously that's 5 without heads. Re: Very simple cabling question. 3Mar 16, 2009 11:22 am Five cables without heads sounds about right, but that means you would need to terminate the cables after they're passed through the conduit.
(If you draw it up, you can get nine 5 mm circules into a 20 mm circle with some room to spare. But check the inside diameter of the conduit, it may be well below 20 mm.) Trick question: How many assembled HDMI cables can you get dowen a 20 mm conduit. Answer: none (a HDMI cable head is 21 x 10.6 mm, so it won't fit). I was hoping to have two data points installed in each of 3 different rooms and have Cat 5e run to a switch in the study. Looks like that is not going to happen unless the builder is able to increase the size of the conduit. Have emailed them to see if I can have larger (32mm) conduit used, or should I just wear the extra cost and get 50mm installed for 'future needs'? Re: Very simple cabling question. 6Mar 16, 2009 2:04 pm 32 should be fine even for future needs as they would simply pull out the older cable anyways... I have squeezed 6 in a 20mm. I had to go through a sandstone wall that was heritage listed so I couldn't increase the hole. Lotsa lube and teasing got em in there.
