Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A ROOF INSTALLED IN THE WINTER? 3Jun 14, 2019 2:13 am BTW, check out metal tiles eg http://www.met-tile.com.au/, so much better looking than Colorbond. Depending on a roof size and complexity of the structure, will probably take a day or two to install metal tiles or metal sheets over existing roof frame. Re: IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A ROOF INSTALLED IN THE WINTER? 4Jun 14, 2019 10:09 am It very much depends what type of roof cover you currently have and what you want to go to as well as the construction type of your house. If you currently have a tile roof and are going to go to metal sheeting then you need to change all the battens and valley boards. I'd also be adding anti-con. This take time. I'd also want to ensure the roof is tied down properly. Tiled roofs are heavy and vent through gaps under the tiles, tin roofs are light and tend to hold pressure more It's one of the reasons that metal roofs "blow off" more than tiled roofs. Make sure that all the roof is correctly tied down while the roof cover is off. They typically do sections at a time rather than just stripping the entire roof off and redoing. It takes longer but allows for any inclement weather.
