Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Need advice re: Marque Property Group 4May 28, 2019 9:02 am ya1980 Hi, My wife and I have been trying to knockdown and rebuild for 5 years. We managed to get enough money together finally in late 2017. We had very specific wishes in terms of floorplan which I couldn't find in any of the volume builders. So I sat one evening and drew out the floorplan for my ideal home. We took a picture of the floorplan I had drawn and emailed three builders with a list of inclusions we would need and asked for a quote. Marque gave us a price slightly lower than the rest so we agreed to meet - and that's when the problems started. First meeting I attend with them they pressure to pay a $5000 deposit just so their architect can sit on the meeting. To cut a long story short the tender price was 50% more than the originally quoted price. So we went to the second company on our list and they have been much better, more transparent and honest. We started building with them and we have finished framing and half way through lock up. Today I get a letter from Marque's lawyers threatening to sue me for infringing their copyright. I drew the plans by my own hand. I emailed it to three different companies. And now they're claiming it's theirs. I don't know what to do. Any advice appreciated. My advice - never go to Marque Property Group in Camberwell, Melbourne. let me know if you need a lawyer, been getting a lot of experience lately dealing with unethical builders Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Need advice re: Marque Property Group 5May 28, 2019 10:16 am ya1980 Today I get a letter from Marque's lawyers threatening to sue me for infringing their copyright. The builder you went with needed proper plans to work off, who created those? 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. My parents got involved into the business in 2012 and a few years later their life become a nightmare. They have chosen a timeshare instead of building their own holiday house and now they regret of not doing the vice versa. 4 14438 You might be able to apply to divert the sewer at your expense.
