Yeah they're overhang. The thought is maybe to get those soft close devices you can retrofit and do that after handover. We'll see. We don't have soft close at the moment and it's not exactly a deal breaker

Are your overheads opened by a overhang or are they push-close mechanisms? Yeah they're overhang. The thought is maybe to get those soft close devices you can retrofit and do that after handover. We'll see. We don't have soft close at the moment and it's not exactly a deal breaker Re: Madison 35 by Clarendon Homes - Fixing stage 122May 25, 2019 1:26 pm Wow...your build is going really well...how did they manage to over estimate bricks? Re: Madison 35 by Clarendon Homes - Fixing stage 123May 25, 2019 11:21 pm theRealDeal Wow...your build is going really well...how did they manage to over estimate bricks? So they say there is an allowance for breakages etc... but that sure is some allowance! Maybe our brickies were particularly careful? Either way, we'll try to minimise waste and get our money's worth out of them - since we paid for them! Just have to come up with a bunch of things we can use them for Re: Madison 35 by Clarendon Homes - Fixing stage 124Jun 09, 2019 6:08 pm Drama! So we had our meeting with the tiler on 24 May - he'd already started on the bathroom floor tiles and was doing a great job. We checked all the different tiles to make sure they were right, and found that our beautiful wood look main floor tile was wrong. The smooth tile had been delivered as a tile with texture through it. We notified Clarendon, and shortly after heard from Beaumont that they had changed specification, and the tile no longer came in the same style that we had chosen. Naturally we were pretty annoyed, and Beaumont offered to look at alternative tiles that might suit. Nice gesture, but fairly hollow since we had based pretty much all of the colours based on the floor tile! Not only this, but we popped into a local Beaumont store and found that our original tile was still being sold. Even the sales people had no idea the tile wasn't available in this same specification anymore. So after more discussion with Clarendon, and a sterling effort by our Site Supervisor and staff from Beaumont, they found stock in Victoria of our original tile, which will be delivered any laid in the near future. So not a fun time, but a good result! Updating the progress, the bathroom, laundry and kitchen tiles have been laid, the internals have been prepared for painting (this coming week) and scaffold is down, with the render, downpipes and plaster to be painted. Photos are in the next post. Re: Madison 35 by Clarendon Homes - Fixing stage 131Jun 11, 2019 10:09 pm Looking great! I've only just signed up to these forums, I wish I started a thread like you at the start. I am building a Parkhill 29 in SEQ. I think I am about 2 weeks behind you in terms of where we are up to. If you don't mind me asking, did they give you an ETA till completion? Nice job and good vision! If you don't mind me asking, did they give you an ETA till completion? Thanks! Never too late to start a thread But it has been fun charting it from the start! The Parkhill is a good design - actually there's one going up just near us I think. No they haven't given an ETA yet... we're still estimating completion at the end of July, based on their average build time for a 2 storey. Looking like we're more or less on track for that though. Nice job and good vision! Thanks Rhetti! We can only claim part ownership of that vision though - the facade we'd chosen originally has the whole front rendered, but we liked the modified facade on the Clarendon website, which only has part of it rendered. Looking forward to the garage door going on so we get a full appreciation of how it all looks together! Re: Madison 35 by Clarendon Homes - Fixing stage 135Jun 24, 2019 8:26 pm So hasn't really been an update in a while, mainly because there's not been much to update! The painting is now complete. The main floor tile finally arrived last week, so we weren't held up too much I think. It should be laid this week, then it's on to electrical and plumbing finishes. Oh yeah, and next door, which started I think about 6-7 weeks ago? It's already up to the same stage as us! Seems like we both get a flurry of activity then nothing for a while... and the timeline they gave us seems a little out of order We'll go out to the house either tomorrow or over the weekend - looking forward to seeing where we're up to, but not looking forward to seeing all the mud! Those makeshift duckboards aren't doing anything hey!! the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6746 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 7872 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5332 |
