I had my driveway done a couple years ago. Because of how big the job was, the concreter did it in stages. What I see on your pics is where the water ran off the driveway while they were spraying the concrete to bring up the aggregate. Re: Is this expected with exposed aggregate? 5Jul 14, 2019 1:44 pm Looks like it was poured on a windy day. Possibly hot too. Those types of cracks are from the surface drying too quickly. Looks like they lost control of the job a bit and didn't get the retardant on quick enough. Hence the patchiness. It probably looks good by the house as this was sheltered from the sun and the wind. When there is wind or heat I always wrap up my jobs in poly. This gives it an even exposure. And beyond that. Exposed aggregate shouldn't be poured in 30+degrees anyway. Unless it's a small job or you have heaps of workers to compensate.
