Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Owner/ Builder -Architect Build PM'd by Rehaan Builders 127Apr 28, 2019 3:57 pm So the internal doors have been selected. I have created a mood board.
We will have frosted glass doors in the laundry and master walk in robe upstairs. The frosted glass door in the walk in robe will be open most of the time and just slide shut when we are getting ready. Having a frosted laundry door will allow light into the passage way just outside the laundry and also light into the master walk in robe. All other doors are semi solid Corinthian Doors. The locks are square and black. We are now deciding what skirting we go with eg. Shadowline etc. See below: Re: Owner/ Builder -Architect Build PM'd by Rehaan Builders 129Apr 29, 2019 9:26 pm Some more stuff happening behind the scenes. amilelka we got the swatches 😀 Our exterior will have louvres (I don't have a sample for it so I have used a swatch of their site and it's terrible. However for now I guess it will have to do. The rammed earth wall is the round sample. The monument will be our cladding. The Basalt colour will be the triangle shaped porch that will have louvres and finally we have chosen our render colour as Lexicon. Any thoughts guys? The installation cost has been exorbitant however our builder has come to the rescue. We saved about $6-9k in installation. Our builder spent about 3 days onsite installing them of which two days were with my husband and one day with his own Dad getting this done. I am so glad this is done because I spent two days with the kids at home and both were whinging and whining at me. Never again! I couldn’t be thankful enough as because of this we were able to get the brick work started. The garage (who cares about it anyways?) is single bricked. We have only just begun with our brick work however they smashed through it in a day. There is probably only one more day of work. In total on the foam and bricks we have spent 4 days. Had we gone full brick it could have been 4-5 weeks. Double brick also requires deeper and wider footings when comparing to brick veneer. This is surely single brick veneer you are currently having. Re: Owner/ Builder -Architect Build PM'd by Rehaan Builders 137Apr 30, 2019 2:52 pm Alexp79m the image that Gablerocks posted is clear that they are using double brick in some places, but not traditional double brick with cavity. Assuming this is done as a feature for the depth.
You might notice this is my first post, and the only reason I chose to post here is because I think the constant negative tone you write in regards to someone's blog is disappointing.
