Hoping to have most of 1st floor done this week and then bricks starting sometime next week. Does anyone know how long bricks take (41sq with a rendered facade)? Just wondering which side of Easter the brickies will finish....thinking after. Also, do they leave the fence open the whole build or will they put shadecloth up?? We do have a contract item for shadecloth to 2 elevations on the 1st floor for neighbour privacy but not sure what is standard. We had to wait 3 weeks for ours to start then half way through when the scaffold is put up they go away again to do another job and you have to wait till they come back again Our bricks took 6 weeks Thanks Manhattan52, that's good to know! Thank you for your wealth of knowledge. Yes, that was this morning. Didn’t have a chance to go back this afternoon to see what progress has occurred. The only difference from Fri/Sat was the railing around the 1st flood. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14489Apr 09, 2019 9:31 am I had to get tiger tails. If it is just for the lower telecommunications one. Then there are lots of choices and prices. I had quotes from Sydney Tiger Tails, Ausgrid. Between these two. Ausgrid was cheaper but a longer lead time. If you do not pick these two, then the price goes down much more. But depending on the region you are in, you might have to choose ausgrid if it is a high voltage electricity one. There's also electricians who are certified by Ausgrid who can do it for other areas. The monthly cost is around $110 after negotiations. They start at $120 per month. If you go with an electrician in your area, it's one time for install and one time for taking it down. Obviously no monthly cost which works out much cheaper. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14490Apr 09, 2019 9:48 am Yara I had to get tiger tails. If it is just for the lower telecommunications one. Sydney Tiger Tails charged me $1,760 for 6 months install. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14491Apr 09, 2019 11:38 am We got an email from our CSR today stating the waterboard had denied the approval for our land and it could be because the land is still new and maps are not updated and so Wisdom team has to perform some further reports and submissions for which they are charging $900 as of now and it may increase. Did anyone here had a similar situation? Wondering why should we be charged for it? You may get charged more due to council or basix requirements, if they hit rock during your build etc etc. There is no point fighting the charge unfortunately. All builders charge it. Unfortunately there is so much communication gap and these are not informed upfront..hope no more such surprises.. Re: Building with Wisdom Homes 14496Apr 09, 2019 4:20 pm Hi Champs2018, MandM is right. There may be council requirements and basix. The basix that is included in contract is just the standard basix requirements. Your tender will outline what is included. An external basix company will go over your plans and may or may not add costs, in order to comply. We were charged close to 4k for some window glazing, roof sarking and insulation upgrades etc.. oh and keep in mind additional site costs, which you will know after surveys, contours etc is done. Thanks MandM and ASJ1981, good to know ahead so we can plan for it. Didnt know basix will be charged over and above the contract. We just did the changes asked by developers and now waiting for council. I hope its not a lot. Thanks for letting me know that these could come up.. We also got the water board charge being in a new estate. Once our contours/plans came through we then had to include as $7500 PA or a flat our $7100 charge for additional piering as our build would impact the sewer line at the front of the house. The sewer runs parallel with the road and house offset from the street is 4 meters. So if this is the case for your build also be prepared for that to pop up also. Things have progressed nicely since start and our site manager Yuosef has been amazing. Very happy with everything so far. We are looking at making some changes to electricals and hopefully can get that sorted in the next couple weeks, I’m putting in tech stuff for home automation so hoping Wisdom will agree to wire the house for the automated lights. Can’t wait to move in!
