Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 183Feb 27, 2019 9:02 am ymiao4398 this wait is so long, the house has been cleaned for two weeks now and we still haven't got PCI yet. Just a tip on the cleaning, check inside your window frames that all dirt has been removed. In the first house we built all the window frames were packed solid with dirt that we had to use screw drivers to get it all out. The cleaners were supposed to have checked that and we didn’t pick it up until we were fitting curtains a few days after moving in. Our next house we made sure to mention it to the building supervisor, and the windows and frames were spotless. In the scheme of things, it’s not a big issue, just annoying. 🥴 Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 184Feb 27, 2019 10:08 am Bebbsy ymiao4398 this wait is so long, the house has been cleaned for two weeks now and we still haven't got PCI yet. We only checked the window surface and not the inside of frames in our first build. It was a lot of work. We are hoping to build again, and this is now in our list to check. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 187Feb 28, 2019 12:59 pm Thank you. It looks a brownish colour? We have gone with a similar colour I think but it’s called colourmix peppercorn. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 188Mar 02, 2019 12:33 pm Loving your floors - is that a vinyl or laminate? Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 190Mar 02, 2019 4:15 pm Wow! Like, a ceramic tile??? I'm a bit new to all this new wood-looking stuff We built our house about 8 years ago and this wasn't an option back then. Now it's popping up everwhere and looks fabulous! We're just about to build a 'weekender' and looking for timber flooring options that don't cost a fortune. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 193Mar 07, 2019 9:40 am ymiao4398 had our PCI today, and everything looks great, no dust in the window sills. jsut some minor items that will get repaired. looking at handover next week. Congratulations enjoy your new home. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 194Mar 12, 2019 9:24 am had our first disagreement with allcastle today. just a watchout for everyone. datacables to the eaves are not terminated. no plate or plug. so you just paid 165 for a piece of cable if you do decide to do it. their security company charges a $120 call out fee. they do not disclose this during electrical or at any stage. please be mindful and don't bother putting in datapoints into eaves on the first floor. we have just wasted $300ish because we still need to find someone to come in and teminate the damn cable. and most cablers will not come out due to the cable being laid by someone else. Sorry to hear but it’s minor in the scheme of things . I would say if you have the right ladder and crimping tools, it’s not hard to have them teeminated. None compliance of course Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 196Mar 12, 2019 7:53 pm ymiao4398 had our first disagreement with allcastle today. just a watchout for everyone. datacables to the eaves are not terminated. no plate or plug. so you just paid 165 for a piece of cable if you do decide to do it. their security company charges a $120 call out fee. they do not disclose this during electrical or at any stage. please be mindful and don't bother putting in datapoints into eaves on the first floor. we have just wasted $300ish because we still need to find someone to come in and teminate the damn cable. and most cablers will not come out due to the cable being laid by someone else. But u r getting someone to install your ip camera for u right ie. With a tall ladder. Thst someone can put the rj45 for u Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 197Mar 13, 2019 8:28 am MyFirst ymiao4398 had our first disagreement with allcastle today. just a watchout for everyone. datacables to the eaves are not terminated. no plate or plug. so you just paid 165 for a piece of cable if you do decide to do it. their security company charges a $120 call out fee. they do not disclose this during electrical or at any stage. please be mindful and don't bother putting in datapoints into eaves on the first floor. we have just wasted $300ish because we still need to find someone to come in and teminate the damn cable. and most cablers will not come out due to the cable being laid by someone else. But u r getting someone to install your ip camera for u right ie. With a tall ladder. Thst someone can put the rj45 for u the whole point of them terminating it and gettting IP camera is i don't need someone to install the camera for me. if i was going to get someone to install the IP camera, i would have got them to run the cables as it would have been about the same price. We have tall ladders at home and we have our working at heights license as well. just not a cabler license. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 198Mar 13, 2019 8:34 am i'm glad we got the houspect inspection done, they picked up a number of small things we missed, e.g. the overall paint is substandard and really need another coat. there are gaps under the shower that has not been siliconed, and gaps in the windows that we missed. the main one is the squeaking of the floors in some parts on the upper floor, looking at the places it looks like the floor wasn't dried out properly after it rained. we noticed there was two windows they didn't install after the window frames went in, and the two places are now the places having squeaking floor. overall all, i'm still happy with the build it is a project home, the paint is not a biggy as we thinking redoing a few rooms anyway. but the gaps i'm glad we paid for the additional inspection. oh yeah, we were really happy with our CSO before, but she left and the person we got handed too, was the same person that did the pre-build selections, and we didn't like her much really pushy and didn't give us the sense she cared. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 199Mar 25, 2019 9:20 am anyways, we had our handover, i can confirm you get Final OC without doing the landscaping. just a note to everyone in their PCI and final inspection, bring your electrical plan with you, and also a ladder and light bulbs if you only got the batten holders. we forgot to bring the above now there is some rectifying work that need to be done, our upstairs wiring is done wrong, as three of the bedrooms when you switch on the light the fuse will trip. the dual switches we put in did not all work properly. also they left out the batten above the stairs. so bring a light bulb/bulbs and a ladder. we are however very happy with the tiling. Re: KDR - Allcastle Homes Grandworth 45 MK2 200Apr 05, 2019 8:59 pm Hi mate, I am just wondering if this is a landscaper job or AC can do it for you as well? as I am going to start build with them soon, what they mentioned to me is I need do all the driverway by myself, they even won;t give you a supplier list...
